Designate a course as an exam

Create a closed-book testing environment for your learners by designating a course as an exam within a curriculum. While the exam is in progress, learners cannot go back to review prerequisite courses for answers. Once they complete the exam, access to previous courses in the curriculum is automatically restored.

You need this to succeed

  • Plan: Bigtincan Basic Learning, Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan Standard, or Bigtincan Standard Plus
  • Roles and Privileges: Learning Author, Learning Administrator, or Company Administrator

Do this step by step

  1. Go to the Learning tab and select My Courses and Curriculums from the dropdown menu.
  2. Find the curriculum you want to edit.
  3. Hover over the curriculum name and click the three dot menu that appears on the right.
  4. Select Edit curriculum from the dropdown menu.
  5. To optionally prevent learners from accessing previous courses during an exam, on the Curriculum Overview tab, select the Hide prerequisite course when exam is in progress checkbox.
  6. Go to the Courses tab.
  7. Find or add the course you want to designate as an exam. Check the Mark as exam checkbox.
  8. Click Save to apply your changes.
