Uploading a SCORM package allows you to bring externally created, interactive eLearning content directly into Brainshark Learning. This ensures you can seamlessly deliver, manage, and track third-party training materials alongside your standard Brainshark courses within a centralized learning environment.

Key features
- Import SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, and AICC zip files
- Track learner progress, scores, and completion automatically
- Replace outdated packages with newer versions easily
- Download original SCORM files directly from your course
Note: Rise courses often exceed the SCORM 1.2 suspend data limit of 4,096 characters, causing progress data loss and broken resume functionality. Always export Rise content as SCORM 2004 and apply the configuration changes described below.
You need this to succeed
- Plan: Bigtincan Basic Learning, Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan Standard, Bigtincan Standard Plus
- Roles and Privileges: Learning Author, Learning Administrator, or Company Administrator
- Prerequisites: A valid SCORM or AICC package compressed into a .zip file (filename must be under 180 characters to avoid filepath errors)
Do this step by step
- Click the Learning tab.
- Select Create Course from the drop-down menu or click the Create button and select Course.
- Select Imported Course from the Course type dropdown.
Browse your computer or drag and drop your SCORM .zip file into the upload area.
Note: Your SCORM file name should be 180 characters or less. Brainshark adds 40 characters to the filepath upon upload, and exceeding the 220-character total limit will result in an error.
Allow the file to upload and convert.
Note: The course must remain inactive until the conversion is successfully completed. If the conversion fails, you will receive an automated email with error details.
Complete the necessary course settings, such as the title, folder, and enrollment options.
Tip: Any completion criteria must be set within the third-party platform where the SCORM package was created, as the SCORM file contains its own completion rules.
- Click Save.
