Configure player and viewer settings

Configuring player and viewer settings allows you to control the default appearance and functionality of the presentation player across your organization. This helps you establish a consistent brand identity, designate default themes, and manage email invitations while giving authors the flexibility to apply custom logos or themes to their own content.

Key features

  • Designate a default desktop player theme for your organization
  • Allow authors to override the default player theme
  • Permit authors to use custom company logos on their presentations
  • Manage company-wide email invitations

You need this to succeed

  • Plan: Bigtincan Authoring, Bigtincan Basic Learning, Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan Standard, or Bigtincan Standard Plus
  • Permissions: Company Administrator

Do this step by step

  1. Click your profile drop-down menu and select Administration.
  2. Click Company in the left-hand menu.
  3. Select Presentations, then click Player and Viewer.
  4. Update the following properties based on your company's needs:
    • Appearance: Control the visual theme of the presentation player. The default theme is selected from four options: Modern light, Modern dark, Classic light, and Classic dark.
    • Image Branding: Manage company logos displayed in the player. By checking the Allow authors to override Company logo box, you grant authors the ability to maintain a library of custom logos for use in their own presentations. Any custom logos uploaded by authors must be in .gif or .jpg format and be 174 pixels wide by 56 pixels high to avoid image distortion.
    • Slide Notes: Display any notes attached to the slides to provide additional context during playback.
    • Captions: Control closed caption behavior in the presentation viewer. By default, captions are not shown automatically when the player is launched. Viewers must enable captions manually if desired.
    • Email Invitations: Determine whether viewers can share a presentation via email.
    • Send Me A Copy: Control whether senders automatically receive a copy of email invitations. Authors can change the behavior of the "send me a copy" option on their own presentations.
    • Embed Link: Determine whether viewers can embed presentations on external sites.
    • Display Completion Indicator: Control the visibility of a viewer's progress through a presentation. By default, the completion indicator is displayed in the presentation viewer, giving viewers a visual cue showing how far along they are in the content.
    • Email A Question: Set whether learners can submit their questions and learner queries to the author or presenter via email directly from the presentation viewer.
    • FAQ: Determine whether a frequently asked questions section appears in the presentation viewer.
    • Print Slides: Enable learners to print a copy of the presentation slides directly from the player interface.
    • Presentation Sharing: Allow learners to share the presentation link with others via email or social media, directly from the player.
  5. Click Save to apply your changes.
