Run question inventory and question results reports

Run Brainshark question reports to review the questions in a presentation or course and see how viewers answered them.

  • Use the Question Inventory report to see a master list of questions, answer choices, correct answers, and point values.
  • Use the Question Results Summary report to see the correct answers and the percentage of viewers who chose each option.

Do this step by step

Run a Question Inventory report

  1. Click the Reporting tab.
  2. Click Content under the Standard Reports section on the left side.
  3. Click Question Inventory.
  4. On the Report Basics tab, choose whether to run the report for all presentations in a folder or for specific presentations. If you want to run the report for a specific presentation, click Find, then select Presentation.
  5. In the pop-up window, select one or more presentations. You can also choose options such as Show only my presentations, Include inactive and expired presentations, and Include archived presentations before selecting the presentation. Click Submit.
  6. If needed, select Include subfolders to include content from subfolders.
  7. Under Output, choose a format such as Comma-delimited CSV, PDF, HTML, or XML.

    Tip: Choosing the CSV output format opens the file in Excel. This includes fields such as folder name, presentation ID, title, question type, question number, question text, point value, answer label, answer text, and whether the answer is correct, which makes it useful for audits and reviews.

  8. Choose how to receive the report.
    1. On-screen only, to open it immediately.
    2. Email to, to send the report to one or more email addresses.
    3. File transfer (FTP/SFTP/FTPS), to send the file to a configured file transfer location.
  9. Click the Report Options tab.
  10. Select Show correct answers if you want the report to include the correct answer for each question.
  11. Click Run Report.

Run a Question Results Summary report

  1. Click the Reporting tab.
  2. Click Content under the Standard Reports section.
  3. Click Question Results Summary.
  4. On the Report Basics tab, select the presentation you want to report on.
  5. Choose an output format.
  6. Click Run report.

Note: The Question Results Summary report shows the correct answers and the percentage of viewers who chose each option.

If you need learner-level detail rather than a summary, use one of these reports.

  • Question Response Details to see users’ answers for each question in a selected presentation or course.
  • Viewing Details with Question Results to track viewing details with question results for a presentation or course.
  • Course Details with Question Results under Learning to see question responses for each student who completed a course, along with their score and viewing information.
