Why am I unable to delete a folder?

If you are unable to remove a folder, we recommend to please verify if there is any content remaining in that folder. At this time, the company's main folder, as well as any folders that contain presentations or courses, cannot be deleted. This article will discuss the items to review for if you are unable to delete a folder. 

 

To view the folder to verify if there are no sub-folders:

  1. Navigate to Administration via the user icon in the top right in Brainshark.
  2. Click Folders, then Edit folder from the menu on the left.
  3. Search for the desired folder. 

You can then search for content and remove it from the folders:

  1. Navigate to Administration via the user icon in the top right in Brainshark.
  2. Click Content, then Manage content  from the menu on the left.
  3. Click Select Folder to filter content based on folder location.

Additionally, we recommend to also ensure that no curriculums are stored within the folders:

  1. Click the Learning header and choose My Courses and Curriculums from the drop-down menu.
  2. Select the Curriculums filter on the right (see below).

  3. Click the Filters button to close that menu.
  4. The folders will be listed under the Folder column for that curriculum line item. 

Note: 

  • Prior to deleting any folders, be sure all presentations and sub-folders have been removed.
  • If the folders display "contains presentations" but there are no presentations visible, the folder may contain archived presentations or courses.
