How do I generate audio from PowerPoint slide notes in Modern Authoring?

As an author, you can generate audio from your PowerPoint slides for your Brainshark presentation.  This option is only available if you have added slides notes in the notes portion of your PowerPoint presentation and if there is no audio recorded or embedded in the presentation.

Recent updates have improved the quality of generated voices and expanded the available options, making it easier to produce professional-sounding narration directly from your notes on a slide-by-slide basis or all-at-once.

To automatically generate audio with slides notes for a single slide:

  1. Open your presentation in Modern Authoring mode.
  2. Navigate to the slide where you wish to generate audio.
  3. Click into the Notes tab in the Slide Properties section on the right to make sure your slide notes are entered correctly for that slide, and save any changes.
  4. Click the Generate narration button above the notes field.
  5. Choose your preferred AI voice from the enhanced Modern voice library or the AuthoringAI voice library (if enabled by your organization), then choose Generate and save.
  6. The narration will be added to your slide after some processing.

To automatically generate audio with slides notes for all available slides at once:

  1. Open your presentation in Modern Authoring mode.
  2. Navigate to the slide where you wish to generate audio.
  3. Click into the Notes tab in the Slide Properties section on the right to make sure your slide notes are entered correctly for each slide, and save any changes.
  4. Access the Narration dropdown (previously known as Audio) at the top of the page and choose Generate narration.

  5. Choose your preferred AI voice from the enhanced Modern voice library or the AuthoringAI voice library (if enabled by your organization).
  6. Review the list of selected slides and remove any slides with slide notes that you do not want to generate audio for.
  7. Confirm your selection and click Generate and save. The narration will be added to your slide after some processing.

Notes:

  • Slides that already have audio or that do not have slide notes will not be available for Generate Audio.
  • If changes are made to your slide notes after audio has been generated, you will need to regenerate your audio to reflect the new slide notes.
