Add an exam question slide

Adding an exam question slide to your presentation allows you to test a viewer's knowledge and comprehension of the material. This helps you measure understanding, formally assess learning, and create interactive experiences directly within your training content.

  • Plan: Bigtincan Authoring, Bigtincan Basic Learning, Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan Standard, or Bigtincan Standard Plus
  • Roles and Privileges: Content Author, Folder Administrator, or Company Administrator
  • Prerequisites: You must have the user privilege to create questions

Do this step by step

  1. To add exam question slides in your existing presentations, click Content in the top menu and select My Content.
  2. Search and filter your Presentations to locate the presentation you'd like to edit.
  3. Click the three dot button on the presentation and select Edit.
  4. Click the Slides drop-down menu and select Question.
  5. On the Question and answers tab, click Exam under the Type section.
  6. Select a specific format from the Format drop-down menu. The available formats include:

    • Multiple choice (choose one only): Identify the best possible response
    • Multiple choice (choose one or more): Select all answers that apply
    • True or false: Quickly confirm baseline knowledge
    • Fill in the Blank: Test for exact recall of key terms
    • Sequence: Organize items into the correct chronological or logical order
    • Matching: Connect related items

    Note: If you choose Multiple choice (choose one only) or Multiple choice (choose one or more) question formats, you can select the option to Show answers in a random order to each viewer.

  7. Set the Number of attempts allowed for a user.
  8. Type your text in the Question box.
  9. Type your choices in the Answers section.
  10. Mark the correct answer.

    Note: For exam questions, you must mark a correct answer.

  11. Click Next to move to the Branching tab to control the learners’ navigation path based on their answer, if desired. Click the pencil icon next in the question row, then select one of the following options from the dropdown:
    • Next slide: This option directs the viewer to the next slide in the presentation.
    • Slide: This option brings the viewer to a different slide within the existing presentation.
    • Presentation: This option closes the current Brainshark presentation and brings the viewer to a completely different Brainshark presentation.
    • URL: This option closes the current Brainshark presentation and redirects the viewer to another web link.
  12. Click Apply.
  13. Click the Points and feedback tab.
    • In the Points section, assign a numerical point value from 0 to 100 in the Question points box.

      Note: Questions without points or feedback will not be evaluated as part of the completion criteria.

    • In the Feedback section, customize the message a viewer sees immediately after they submit an answer on a question slide.
      • Show feedback to viewer: This option allows you to provide a general response based on whether the viewer answered the overall question correctly or incorrectly.
      • Show custom feedback: This option lets you provide a unique, highly specific response for each answer choice on the slide.
      • Hide feedback from viewer: This option allows to you move without feedback on any choice of answer.
  14. Click the Template tab to customize Appearance by selecting a background color or matching player theme.
  15. Click Create to add the slide to your presentation.
