Overview
Bulk User upload allows you to upload multiple users at once. This is a process your Customer Success team may assist administrators with.
Currently, bulk upload is being done in our legacy V4 user interface.
V4 may be accessed in various methods. If you access the Forms tab you will automatically see the V4 link. This can also be accessed at the top of the Platform configurations page.

Where to Bulk Upload Users
- Platform Configurations.
- Select Configuration Bundles.
- Select the V4 Web App option at the top of the page.
- Select the Gear Icon toward the bottom left of the page, titled Tenant Configuration.
- Select Manage Users.
6. Go to All Users.
7, “Download either a sample CSV showing 10 of your users". This will give you an idea on how to format you user list.
8. Edit the Sample CSV file - Save As a new file name.
When editing CSV file ensure, no special characters or extra spaces are displayed in each field.
Note: If it’s a large number of users to import, break up the list into multiple files.
9. Select ‘Browse’ to upload CSV file.

Note: If any errors occur, message will be displayed. Correct issues and repeat steps from the beginning.
Once completed, you may verify users have been added successfully by going to Platform Configuration >Groups > All Users.
Best Practices for User Bulk Upload
- Download a sample template from the V4 web app as a starting point
- Include the following fields:
- First Name
- Surname (Last Name)
- Password
- Platform
- Language
- Configuration Bundle
- Reports
- Timezone (UTC)
- Digest Email
- If importing a large number of users, up to 500 at a time works best.
- If there are multiple groups or multiple custom user metadata, the load takes a bit longer but should be complete within a few minutes
- Ensure that your upload file is ONLY Users or ONLY Admins and not both. If Admins are on the list mixed with Users, you can erroneously remove Admin permissions in the upload.
- If no errors are received and the import process is scheduled but the users are not loading, check the following:
- Names from other languages sometimes error/non English characters: example issue: «ˆz¸mleri
- Another example: AVANSIS IntegraciÛn, S.L.
- Remove any extra spaces at the end of the email, name, etc.
- If the email exists in another tenant, the user will not load
- A hyphen in someone's name or email is ok
