Key features

  • Practice your delivery using video, audio, document, or screen recordings
  • Record multiple takes to perfect your response before submitting
  • Receive actionable feedback from your managers or peers

You need this to succeed

  • Plan: Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan RolePlayAI, or Bigtincan Standard Plus
  • Role and Privileges: All users
  • Config: You must be invited to participate in the coaching activity

Do this step by step

  1. Click the Coaching tab.
  2. On the As a participant sub-tab, locate your activity in the To do section or open the All activities tab.
  3. Click the title of the coaching activity.
  4. Click the New Response button.
  5. Click New take to open the recording window, select Upload Video. you can select your submission type from the following options:
    • Upload video: This lets you submit a pre-recorded video file from your device. The panel specifies common file types of .mov and .mp4, with a 4 GB max file size. Use it when you've already recorded your take outside of Brainshark (e.g., a polished sales pitch recorded on your phone or in another tool) and just need to submit the finished video.
    • Webcam only: This option records video directly from your webcam (and microphone) within the browser. No file upload is needed since the recording is captured live. Use it when the activity calls for a "talking head" style submission — for example, an elevator pitch, a self-introduction, or any practice where the coach needs to see and hear you, but no screen content or supporting visuals are required.
    • Screen and webcam: This option simultaneously records your screen along with a webcam overlay. Again, no file is uploaded; it's a live capture. Use it for demos, presentations, product walkthroughs, or software training submissions where the reviewer needs to see what's on your screen (slides, an app, a website) while also seeing/hearing you narrate.
    • Upload document: This is only visible when the coaching activity asks for a written deliverable, such as a proposal, a slide deck, a spreadsheet, an email draft, or a PDF report, rather than a recorded performance. This lets you submit a document file instead of a video. Accepted common file types are DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, PDF, EML, MSG, ODT, ODS, ODP, also with a 4 GB max file size.
  6. Click Start take to record your response.
  7. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish your recording.
  8. Click Submit under your submission.

Tip: If the activity allows multiple retries, you can click the Switch Take button to review your different recordings and use the trash can icon to delete unwanted drafts before you submit.
