Upload an external video to a coaching activity

Uploading an external video to a coaching activity lets you record your response outside Brainshark with a third-party application and upload the completed video file. This ensures you can use your preferred recording tools to craft your best pitch. This is only available for activities with the Interaction type configured to support external videos.

Key features

  • Record your video offline or using third-party tools
  • Upload video files up to 4 GB in size
  • Supported file types are MOV and MP4
  • Use a minimum resolution of 180p (a frame height of at least 180 pixels)
  • Submit responses from your computer or mobile device

You need this to succeed

  • Plan: Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan RolePlayAI, or Bigtincan Standard Plus
  • Permissions: All users
  • Config: The activity creator must enable the video upload submission type

Do this step by step

  1. Click the Coaching tab.
  2. On the As a participant sub-tab, locate your activity in the To do section or open the All activities tab.
  3. Click the activity title.
  4. Click New response to submit a new response.
  5. To upload an external video, select New Take. Then, click Upload Video. This lets you submit a pre-recorded video file from your device. This is useful when you've already recorded your take outside of Brainshark (for example, a polished sales pitch recorded on your phone or in another tool) and just need to submit the finished file.
  6. Drag and drop an existing video, or click to choose a file from your computer.
  7. Review your video and click Submit.

Tip: To verify your file meets the 180p requirement, right-click the video file, select Properties, then Details, and check the Frame Height value under the Video section.
