Set due dates and automated reminders for learning content

Brainshark allows you to apply specific deadlines to your courses and curriculums and establish automated email notifications for your learners. Using these features helps you ensure your audience completes their assigned training on time while reducing the manual effort required to follow up with students who have not completed. This article is for learning authors and administrators.

Do this step by step

Assign or edit a due date for course completion to students

  1. Edit your Course or Curriculum.
  2. Click the Enrollments tab.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the students’ names. You can edit one or more student’s due dates at once.
  4. Click Edit due date.
  5. Select a new date and click Save.

    Note: Due dates do not automatically apply to students who self-enroll through the Course catalog.

Configure automated reminders

  1. Edit your Course or Curriculum and click the Scheduled reminders tab.
  2. Click the Create reminder drop-down menu.
  3. Select Student reminder or Group reminder.
  4. Enter a name in the Reminder name field.
  5. Choose when the reminder should be sent, such as a scheduled date or after a certain number of days.
  6. Choose the target audience under the Recipient status section, such as students who have not completed the course or students who have not passed the test.
  7. Edit the text in the Message field if desired. Note that the placeholders will be completed with the correct information upon sending, such as the course name.
  8. Click Create.

Tip: You can also send a one-time immediate reminder to specific students by navigating to the Enrolled Students page, checking the boxes next to their names, and clicking Send Reminder.
