You need this to succeed
- Plan: Bigtincan Basic Learning, Bigtincan Basic Readiness, Bigtincan Elite, Bigtincan Essential, Bigtincan Readiness, Bigtincan Standard, or Bigtincan Standard Plus
- Permissions: Company administrator or learning administrator
- Prerequisites: A prepared CSV file containing the usernames of the accounts you wish to delete
Do this step by step
Soft delete users in bulk
- Click your profile in the top right corner of the page and select Administration.
- Select Users on the left-hand menu and click Manage Users.
- Click the Request Bulk Update button in the top right corner of the page and select Delete Users from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Download template button to download the .CSV file.
Open the spreadsheet and enter the usernames of the users you want to delete in the Username column.
Tip: Limit your file to 10,000 rows or fewer to ensure optimal performance.
Enter the username of a company administrator in the ReassignContent column to reassign the deleted user's content. Enter "delete" to delete their content instead.
Note: You must reassign content to a company administrator. If this field is left blank and the user has associated content, the system will return an error.
Enter the username of the new manager in the ReassignMgr column to reassign their direct reports. Enter "unassign" to remove the manager association entirely.
Note: If this field is left empty and the deleted user has direct reports, the system will return an error.
- Upload your completed spreadsheet by clicking the Upload .csv button.
- Deleted users can be restored from the Manage Deleted Users option in the Users menu. Some deleted content, such as custom voices, can't be restored.
Permanently delete users in bulk
Note: Permanent deletion is unrecoverable. Once permanently deleted, you can't restore the user's account, and all user activity is permanently deleted.
- Navigate to Administration.
- Select Users on the left-hand menu and click Manage Deleted Users from the expanded menu.
- Click the Request Bulk Delete button in the top right corner of the page.
- Click the Download template button to download the .CSV file.
Open the spreadsheet and enter the usernames of the users you want to permanently delete in the Username column.
Tip: We recommend limiting your file to 10,000 rows or less.
- Enter "delete" in the action column for each user.
- Enter one of the four valid reasons in the reason column for each row:
- Company Policy: when you're permanently deleting user accounts to comply with your organization's internal data retention schedules, security policies, or corporate governance rules.
- GDPR Delete: to satisfy legal compliance requirements under privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ("right to be forgotten"), where you need to permanently and irreversibly purge an individual's personal data from the system.
- User Request: when a user explicitly asks you to permanently remove their profile, account records, and personal information from Showpad.
- Other: for any valid administrative reason for permanent deletion that doesn't fall under standard company policy, GDPR mandates, or a direct user request.
- Upload your completed spreadsheet by clicking the Upload .csv button.
