Use Conversation Starters in Genie

Conversation Starters appear as easy-to-use cards in Genie, making it faster to start conversations with the right prompt. Each card includes a clear title and description, along with built-in or custom Conversation Starters tailored to your team's workflows. You can click any card to load its text into your message box, customize it as needed, and send when ready.

You need this to succeed

Permissions: Users and Admins, with access to Genie

The quick way

  1. Open a new chat in Genie.
  2. Click any Conversation Starter card.
  3. Edit the text in your message box and send your message when you're ready.

Do this step by step

Use a Conversation Starter

When you open a new chat, you see Conversation Starter cards (three by default, or more if your administrator has configured additional ones). Each card has a title and description to help you understand what it does.

  1. Click any Conversation Starter card.
  2. Edit the text that appears in your message box.
  3. Send your message when you're ready.

The Conversation Starter text appears in your input field, and you can change anything you want before sending.

See all your Conversation Starters

If your team has more than four Conversation Starters total, click See all to browse the complete list. This view shows everything in one place, making it easy to find what you need.

Use template fields in custom Conversation Starters

Custom Conversation Starters help you communicate more effectively with Genie by giving you proven starting points for your team's most common tasks. Your administrators configure these based on your team's specific workflows.

If your administrator has set up custom Conversation Starters with template fields, use these fields to customize them for your specific situation. This helps Genie provide more relevant responses.

Note: If you need additional custom Conversation Starters for your team, talk to your administrator about setting up new ones.

What changed

Conversation Starters have a fresh new look and work differently now. Instead of text links, you see Conversation Starter cards that include both Genie's built-in options and any custom Conversation Starters your team has set up. These cards let you edit the suggested text before sending it, so you can make it your own.
