Download and Install the imSMART App

This article provides detailed instructions about how to download, install, and set up the Windows version of the imSMART application.

Generally speaking, you will follow these basic steps:

1. Set your Password.
2. Download and Install the Application.
3. Update the Application.

1. Set Your Password

To begin using the imSMART application, you will first need to activate your User Account by choosing a password. To do that, follow these steps:

1. Open the New User Welcome Email that you received.
   • Generally speaking, the email will be titled "Please activate your (Company Name) user account." 
     
     
2. Find the sentence that contains a "Click Here" link (shown below), which enables you to create your password.... then click on the link. 
   
   
3. A new tab will open in your browser to display a password reset form.
4. Enter the password that you would like to use, then enter it again.
   
   
5. Click the Submit button.

Your User Account is now active, and you can download and install the application.

2. Download and Install the Application

To download the application, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Windows Start button (at lower left), then go to the Microsoft Store and open it.
   • You can use the list of tools on the left to scroll down to the "M" section - you will see the Microsoft Store listed there.
     
     
2. Click on the Search icon in the top-right corner of the screen for the MS Store.
3. Type in the name that your company has called the application, then hit Enter to perform the search.
   • The name will appear in your New User Welcome Email. 
   • It usually contains the name of your company.
   • If you get too many search results, select "Apps" under the Departments filter. (shown below)
     
     
4. Click on the logo area for the app that you want to install.
   
   
5. Click the Install button, located at the top-right of your screen.
   
   
6. The app will now begin to install itself. 
   
   
7. Click the Launch button, at the top-right of your screen.
   
   
   
8. A new window will appear... with a Registration Form (shown below.)
   • Look at the bottom right-hand corner and click the link that is labeled "Already registered? Sign In".
     
     
     
9. Enter your email address and the password that you created earlier, then click the Sign-in Arrow next to the password field.

The application will log you in and bring you to the Update tab. (If not, click on Updates at the top of the imSMART application.)

3. Update the Application to Sync Content

In the future, you will visit the Updates tab periodically to update (and sync) the Asset content for your application. For now, you simply need to perform the initial update for the application.

To update the app, follow these steps:

1. Click the Yes button.
   
   
2. The application will run through a series of updates.
   • This may take a few minutes, depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the number of files that you have access to. 
     
     
     
     
     
3. When the application has finished updating, click the Ok button.

Once you click the Ok button above, the application will bring you to the Home screen (shown below), which contains all of the Segments that you have access to.

You can now begin using the application - and welcome to the imSMART application!
