Modus Lead Capture - Setting Up Business Card Scanning


We offer Business Card scanning for Lead Capture. This allows you to simply take a snapshot of a business card and turn it into a lead in Lead Capture. 

To start:

Create an event in Media Manager. Click here to learn how to set up an event! 


Users no longer need to turn on "Badge Scanning" to use Business Card scanning. Business card scanning is automatically turned on to all events. Once you create your event, you will run through the additional steps that will eventually lead you to the field mapping page. 

Click on "Add Fields" to start:


To correctly map a business card, you will want to enter the information that you would generally find on a business card. For example: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email address, Website, Address, Company. To see a full list of variations to be used in field mapping, click here:


For each Field name that you add, you will need to select the type. For this purpose of Business Card scanning, the best option would be Text Field. This will tell the app to fill in the recognized field name in the text field. 

Once you have all of your card information entered in the form, you can add your normal business qualifying questions. 

We now provide a transcribing service with Business Card scanning. When you scan a business card and save the lead, the image and the lead information will be sent to a transcribing service that will ensure that the information in the lead form is the same as the image. This service has a 10 minute turnaround time, you will see leads in Media Manager after that time.
