Custom Font Rendering in Chrome *

We are aware of an issue where custom fonts fail to render correctly in SmartStudio’s “Preview” mode and “Publish to Web” when viewed in Chrome. It was found that this is a result of a Chrome bug (issue 544879) introduced by their browser update. Currently, there is no fix from Google for this issue.

Custom fonts will still render as expected on a user's mobile device, or when viewed using Safari. If these options are not sufficient, it is possible to install the custom font directly into Chrome, so that the browser no longer uses the default font.

To install the font into Chrome:

  1. Click on the custom font (.otf or .ttf file).
  2. This brings up a dialog - click on Install Font.
  3. If the font has an “Off” next to it then right-click and enable the font family.
