Veelo dashboards in Salesforce are a great way to see how your usage data correlates to revenue. Your Salesforce integration includes several custom Veelo reporting objects that allow you to perform that correlation. This article provides an overview on how to design your dashboards, as well as information and variables on how to build specific reports for your dashboards.
NOTE: This article assumes familiarity with Salesforce's reporting and dashboard capabilities; please refer to Salesforce documentation for details on how to create reports and set up dashboards.
Tips and Best Practices
When designing your Veelo dashboards in Salesforce, keep the following in mind:
Design with Main Roles and Metrics in Mind
Consider which stakeholder groups need dashboards: Sales Leaders, Marketing Leaders, Trainers and Executives are just some of the stakeholders you'll have to take into account. What are the key business metrics used by each group? What are the behaviors they want to encourage?
Capture the right data
Design your reports and work backward to configure Veelo accordingly to capture the right data by group, such as company, division and team.
Build Your Reports
Involve your CRM administrator to assist as they will best understand the different formats and what type of data is best displayed in each format. Your customer success manager will assist.
Use Data to Drive Behavior
Make it easy to find, view, and access relevant dashboards. Use the schedule refresh feature to ensure your users see the most recent data. Regularly include reporting data in your updates to remind your stakeholders that business-critical metrics are in Salesforce.
